HARD isn’t Always BAD.
GOOD isn’t Always EASY.
May 16, 2022
As I’m typing this, my daughter has reappeared from what I think is a 10minute moment of silence for myself(which is never good for a toddler), dripping wet because she wanted to give herself a bath and I wasn’t quick enough for her. My kitchen counters and living room are a mess for the hundredth time today. && this bun on my head has been there since last Friday. …..but also in this moment, I am rocking and cuddling my hungry newborn, choosing to feed and nourish myself first for 10mins before I nurse him. Because I know I cannot best serve my family if I don’t take care of myself. The cold floor is comforting and inviting after a busy days work of homemaking.
I heard this saying above once and it has always carried with me. It’s on my refrigerator door to remind me that the hard and challenging moments in life aren’t necessarily bad. They bring pruning and growth when they are for the right things. Also, the good things in life don’t (& shouldn’t) always come easy. Putting in work always brings a greater appreciation for the reward. Being a homemaker to my rambunctious family are both amazing and hard, painful and beautiful, sacrificing and life giving. But let me tell you. I’m here for it. I love every second of it. I’m not worthy of the call to be their mother and my husbands wife, but it’s an honor to bear the title.
So I take these small pockets of time to slow down and take it all in. To remember that everyday, every moment, is a gift worth cherishing.
